On the parts - go to some industry specific publications and put in small ads. Look for businesses with expensive equipment with lots of parts. Gasoline pumps are a for instance. You might also want to run some small ads in RV magazines.

I own and RV and there's always a knob or something breaking and they are expensive as heck. It is very possible! Especially for a designer.

I think there is easier money in the design work, but having a 3d printer can really help show off your work. I wouldn't say that you'd have an easy time making money from 3D printing as in buying a printer and making money printing things yourself , but you can make money easily if you're good at 3D modeling.

Just make some good models that fill a niche and put them on Shapeways.
