New year will see work commence on the first of three public artworks to be located in the parkland area in the Tasman Reserve. The artwork will draw inspiration from the natural environment and will be the work of international sculptor, Marquerite Derricourt. Ms Derricourt is best known as a sculptor of mixed media and styles. Her work attests to a career of experimentation and craftsmanship which sees her continue to experiment and innovate on subject matter drawn from nature.

Ms Derricourt studied art in South Africa, worked in Germany, lived in England and finally settled in Sydney, Australia.

The most recent tour was by year 12 students from Northside Christian College and their Home Economics teacher, Leonie Purcell. An enthusiastic group of residents celebrated the launch of the Summer Smart Garden competition on Friday 16th January. Chris Leonard, the guest speaker, had many gems of information and tips for the entrants to give them the added advantage in the upcoming competition. An end of year celebration was held for residents to enjoy an afternoon of fun in the Kuringgai Park.

Kids enjoyed an inflatable soccer field, face painting, oversized games and much more.
